For oxidative stress is a pathological condition in which the body produces an excessive amount of oxidizing substances. These compounds are normally produced as a result of the organism’s physiological reactions: they are substances that have an electron released and react with macromolecules (proteins, DNA lipids, RNA, etc.) to “capture” missing electrons. This, however, damages these molecules and the cells. In normal situations there are mechanisms that ccreate a balance through enzymes and antioxidants. An excess of oxidizing substances is associated with certain pathologies and aging.
Healthy nutrition and proper integration of antioxidants, through cosmetics and dietary supplements, can successfully counter radical stress. Antioxidants are able to awaken the functioning of cells, revitalization and metabolism, helping to protect collagen and elastin, and stimulating the synthesis of new hyaluronic acid, protecting against the stress caused by free radicals produced by external agents.
